From the world famous Acropolis and flea market of Monastiraki to the hidden ‘island village’ of Anafiotika and the changing of the Parliament Guards - Athens is a fantastic city to marvel at the many sites. It deserves several days, but for a solid one day introduction to Greece’s capital, try this:
Day One - Morning
A good starting point would be to start at the Acropolis of Athens and Parthenon - the best time of the day to walk up around this ancient rock before it gets too hot and marvel at the ancient architecture before ambling down into the foothills of Anafiotika – nicknamed the ‘Island within a City’.
