Snowshill Manor & Garden
Eclectic collections
If you’re a stickler for clear surfaces, be prepared for a shock at Snowshill Manor, housing the eclectic collections of Charles Paget Wade who spent his life (and family fortune) collecting anything and everything.
'Let nothing perish' was his motto and such was his enthusiasm that he kept his treasures in the manor house while he and his wife lived in the adjacent priest's house.
Famous guests in the past included JB Priestly, Graham Greene and Virginia Wolf and the manor house has hidden passageways and the Witches Garrett which once held objects concerned with witchcraft. Shivers!
