Bullring & Grand Central

Britain's biggest shopping centre

Bullring & Grand Central

Built around St Martin’s Church on the site of a medieval market in the heart of Birmingham, the iconic Bullring & Grand Central is the UK’s largest city shopping centre. It’s home to the John Lewis and Selfridges department stores among hundreds of retailers plus dining and entertainment, including two 18-hole indoor golf courses.

Art & Architecture

Shop and eat, but also admire the architecture and look for artworks and sculpture. ‘The Guardian’ at the main entrance to the west is a bronze sculpture of a bull, known locally as ‘The Bull’, by Laurence Broderick.

The Bullring, Birmingham

Facing the entrance to New Street Station is a 120 square-metre glass mural by Martin Donlin while reflective light wands in Rotunda Square move in the wind and reflect light from their carbon fibre cores, turning blue, green and red at night.
